When the first SBFD unit arrived they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the inside and 20 ft flames coming from the 2nd story windows of a vacant 3000 square foot two story home.  Firefighters made entry through the front door and extinguished the fire on the first floor while other crews simultaneously assisted them with extinguishing the 2 floor.  “Conditions were very hot…with black smoke down to the floor making it a challenging firefight” stated Paramedic/Firefighter Tony Giordano.  Firefighters had both floors out in 15 minutes.  After a complete search of the home, firefighters determined that no one was inside. The house has been vacant for approximately 3 weeks with known transient activity.  No other homes were affected and no evacuations were ordered.  Fire Investigators have listed the fire as “Suspicious” and are continuing their investigation.
