Fire destroys home, kills 2 dogs, injures firefighter

The fire was reported at 3:35 p.m. Monday afternoon at 1810 Camino Centroloma after smoke and flames were seen coming from the home, said Fullerton Fire Department Division Chief Gary Dominguez.The fire was under control in about 20 minutes with the help of 45 firefighters from Fullerton, Anaheim, Orange County Fire Authority and Los Angeles County Fire, Dominguez said. The residents were not home when the fire broke out in the attached garage, he said. Firefighters found two dead dogs in the home. A three-legged blind dog got out through a doggie door and was uninjured, Dominguez said. A Fullerton firefighter suffered second- and third-degree burns to his ear, Dominguez said. “The entire house is completely damaged,” Dominguez said, adding that the damage is estimated at $775,000.The cause of the fire was under investigation The family was staying with family members, Dominguez said.
