About 20 firefighters put out a small structure fire Saturday morning in a remote area at the rear of the L.A. Zoo in Griffith Park, authorities said.
The blaze was called in about 9:25 a.m. and extinguished in about 30 minutes, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
No people or animals were threatened or hurt, he said.
The zoo was not open at the time, but would likely open at the normal time of 10 a.m., he said.
It was unclear what type of structure was involved, nor was it immediately clear if it was on zoo property, he said, adding that the cause of the blaze was under investigation.
