Assisteens, a teen volunteer arm of the Assistance League of Newport-Mesa, raised money through fund-raising projects for teddy bears to be given out by the Costa Mesa Fire Department. On Dec. 3, the volunteers – high school girls – delivered the first installment of 50 bears to Station 5.

Costa Mesa Fire Chief Mike Morgan, along with crew members on duty, were present for the presentation of bears, which will be given to kids in the community.
