Mobile Home Fire in Desert Hot Springs

February 17, 2010

A 61-year-old woman was displaced after her Desert Hot Springs mobile home caught fire Tuesday.

Firefighters responded to the mobile home fire at the Palm Drive Trailer Park, in the 14880 block of Palm Drive, at about 4:30 p.m. They were finishing some “mop-up” at the scene as of 6:30 p.m.., but a KPSP crew on scene said the fire appeared to be out.

We’re told one woman lived in the mobile home, but she was not inside when the fire broke out. Firefighters said the American Red Cross was assisting her following the damage to her home and belongings, but she will be staying with a family member in Cathedral City.

While the fire was burning, we received calls from multiple viewers who said they could clearly see the black smoke from the I-10.
