Three simultaneous fires at San Jose park considered suspicious

Fire officials said three blazes in grass and brush in San Jose’s Kelley Park that broke out simultaneously around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday burned 10 to 12 acres and are considered suspicious.

Fire Capt. Rob Brown said two of the fires combined into one, while another burned about 1,000 feet away. They were under control at 10:38 p.m., after more than 40 firefighters responded, with a call for mutual aid at one point that was quickly canceled.
