Trinity County’s Flat Fire grew over the weekend to more than 1,700 acres, but there still haven’t been any major injuries or buildings lost to the blaze.
Phyllis Swanson, a spokeswoman for the Forest Service, said the blaze was 1,712 acres as of Sunday night, but firefighters also had begun back-burning in areas to control the fire that broke out Wednesday.
