Separate fires erupted at a Redding home and an apartment building within about 35 minutes early Sunday morning.
The first blaze, reported at 4:04 a.m., burned a house at 1724 El Capitan Drive, west of Buenaventura Boulevard and north of Placer Road, a spokeswoman for the Redding Fire Department said.
