August 10, 2012

A fire that scorched four acres of Palo Alto’s Enid W. Pearson-Arastradero Preserve on Wednesday was likely the work of an arsonist, police said.

The Palo Alto Fire Department received a report of a blaze in the grassy preserve at 1529 Arastradero Road at 4:08 p.m. Personnel from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Santa Clara County Fire Department and Woodside Fire Protection District helped Palo Alto firefighters bring the fire under control just before 5 p.m., police said.
