Electricity is out in the area of Santa Barbara and San Luis Rey drives and San Gabriel Circle in Cathedral City after a transformer caught fire in the neighborhood, fire officials said.
The fire started about 12:30 p.m. near the corner of San Luis Rey Drive and San Gabriel Circle in Cathedral City. Two outbuildings, the transformer, palm trees and other vegetation were destroyed in the blaze.
