Investigators are trying to determine what ignited a massive 3,600-acre brush fire in Southern California’s Angeles National Forest on Sunday — forcing thousands to evacuate the campgrounds over the holiday weekend and crews to deploy several water-dropping aircraft.
The inferno was about 15% under control early Tuesday, and could continue burning for a whole week before it’s fully contained, fire officials said. High temperatures and thick brush are to blame for keeping the fire going.
