Five-alarm Fire at South Sacramento Apartment Complex

Firefighters contained a five-alarm fire Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in south Sacramento County near Florin Road and Stockton Boulevard, and determined that nobody was inside.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Capt. Jeff Lynch said the fire at 7283 Florin Mall Drive heavily damaged four units. A few other units had damage from smoke.

The initial call at 7 a.m. to dispatchers reported that the cause of the fire was an electrical problem, but that has not been confirmed, said Lynch. It will be several hours before investigators can begin searching for clues to the blaze.
