A large, empty Sacramento home that caught fire on Monday was hit by another blaze early Wednesday.The 4,000-square-foot house, located on Pope Avenue near Del Paso Country Club, was empty and no injuries were reported.Wednesday’s fire was reported just before 6 a.m.

Jeff Lynch of Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said arson was the cause of the first fire.
Lynch said the first blaze gutted the garage, while Wednesday’s blaze damaged other parts of the house.”It’s hard to say if this was set on fire or not,” Lynch said of the latest fire.Wednesday’s blaze did not appear to be a rekindling of Monday’s fire, one official said.The home has been targeted thieves who stripped the building of copper wire. Neighbors said the owners were in the process of remodeling the house.
