Now that the Summit Fire is fully contained, one family has come forward with their incredible story of survival and escape from the wrath of it’s fury.
You can hear the shear panic in their voice as they think it is too late to get away and they won’t make it. The conditions they encountered is pretty close to what we would consider time to deploy our Fire Shelters.

Great job by all west coast firefighters that participated in keeping the summit fire from doing even more damage.
