Three People Injured in Las Vegas House Fire

Three people were at home at the time of the fire. Fire appears to have started in the downstairs bedroom where two elderly people with medical problems were sleeping. The third adult woke them and assisted them out of the bedroom. Room also had several oxygen bottles in it.

Woman returned into the house to get a dog out, she was later transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Investigators were not able to talk with any of the three people in the house because of their medical condition. Downstairs of house was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene and was advancing to the second floor. Firefighters had the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. It did not damage any of the other nearby homes.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced persons.

Cause of fire: Cause undetermined, appears to have started in a downstairs bedroom

Damage estimate: $300,000
Description of damage: House gutted on both floors, house structurally appears sound, inside of garage no damage.
