Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Opens New Fire Station

December 14, 2008

A new fire station was placed into service on the northwest side of the city this morning.  The new station will be open to the public after a grand opening ceremony Friday afternoon.

The new station is located at 9133 Elkhorn Road (between Fort Apache Road and Durango Drive).  A fire engine and paramedic rescue/ambulance unit are assigned to the fire station with a crew of six firefighters per shift.   The crew was transferred from a temporary fire station located on Sky Pointe Drive that was placed into service earlier this year so protection could be provided to the far northwest part of city sooner.           .
