On Sunday, May 17, 2009 at approximately 4:00 PM, units of the Santa Clara County Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in a two-story home at 224 Calle Marguerita in Los Gatos, California.
Almost immediately after receiving the initial dispatch, Battalion 3, while en route, reported smoke showing and ordered a full structure response. Upon arrival, crews discovered a two-story home involved in fire. An aggressive fire attack and search of the home were hampered by ambient temperatures hovering near the 100 degree mark.
Searches revealed no occupants of the home as crews continued to press their attack. As fire breached the attic space of the home additional companies were dispatched to the scene to relieve firefighters as they entered rehab.
One firefighter suffered a minor leg injury, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
