Two Salinas firefighters were injured while putting out a fire Thursday.
The firefighters, whose names were not released, were hurt as they were fighting a fire at 1015 Pacific Ave. about 4 p.m. They were taken to a local hospital and were still under observation at 10 p.m., but are not expected to be held overnight, Battalion Chief Scott Myhre said.
The fire department is investigating the circumstances in which they were hurt. The house was 80 percent destroyed by the fire, which probably started in the kitchen, Myhre said.
