On Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 1400, the Bullhead City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 3388 South Ridge Ave. Division Chief Kinsey was first to arrive on scene, reporting heavy smoke and flames from a three car garage with residential exposures to the east and west. Highs winds from the south were a concern and feeding the fire. Two vehicles in the driveway were also on fire. Chief Kinsey immediately requested Clark County Fire Department from Laughlin, Nevada for mutual aid. Afternoon moderate were exceeding 110 degrees with heavy fire and smoke conditions. As Engine 21, arrived firefighters aggressively attacked the fire through the unburned living quarters and held flames to the garage. This offence tactic proved vital to containing flames to the garage with only smoke and heat damage to the interior of the residence. As additional engines arrived, crews were strategically placed to stop the fire from spreading to the residence.
Flames did penetrate the attic between the garage and the attached residence, however interior firefighting efforts held the fire to the gSarage. Crews maintained a cautious attack on the garage as the roof had significant flame damage, which proved valuable when the garage roof collapsed. Several inspection holes were cut into the ceiling and roof check for fire extension. Most of the family’s belongings in the residence were protected with fire department salvage covers. One firefighter sustained a small burn injury during the fire fight. A systematic and aggressive fire attack proved valuable in saving the attached residence and its contents. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family with housing needs. The family’s food and clothing were not harmed in this fire.
The cause of this fire remains under investigation.

Ok I have to ask Bullhead boys…..whats up with the last picture??? Really? Master Stream flowing massive amounts of foam onto …well a driveway for the most part. Not to mention….there is NO FIRE! Is that how you guys roll out there? It sure does make it look like a pretty little snow scene for sure.
Hey Jkern78. Do not monday morn ing quarterback other people’s fire. If you are not there. You don’t know the whole scoop.
I will monday morning quarter back all I want. What they are doing is pretty stupid. Waste of time, water and foam! Not much they can do to explain that picture. Going with your philosophy we should never say anything about the stupid stuff people do on calls. Lets just let em do it….get hurt or get killed. Wouldn’t want to call anybody on anything…ya know cause I wasn’t there. OHHHHH NOOOOO can’t do that. Were you one of the knuckle heads on this call? Maybe the Captain that thought it was a good idea. One of those company officers that thinks he knows it all and can’t learn from anybody. The reason why I was asking puppydog411 was so that I could get the scoop.
JKern78 Read the last few sentences. Sounds pretty successful to me I was not there either but your basing your opinion of a fire on a small picture. And typically at least where I work we use foam for overhaul not for direct fire attack on a garage fire so that might be why you see no fire. Your pretty opinionated not sure why you even care what they do in Bullhead
What is so stupid about using foam to overhaul a fire? Not sure about there strategy with the deck gun if that is what there using but thats there call, you sound pretty lame calling those guys out.
JKern,
How do you know what the circumstances are if you were not there? The foam blanket covering the driveway may have just been an after affect of drenching the garage.
Stop being so attackful. What happened to brotherhood? Besides, does YOUR department operate soooooo much better? You don’t know for sure because you don’t work for Bullhead City Fire Department.
