Three hurt in Beaumont apartment complex fire

Riverside County firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that injured three people and displaced eight residents of a Beaumont apartment complex Sunday.

The fire was reported at 8:14 a.m. in the 600 block of East Fifth Street, Cal Fire officials said.

Firefighters found a blaze in the attic of a six-unit complex. The fire was contained in minutes, but caused an estimated $75,000 in damage.

Paramedics took two adults and a child to San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation
