General information about the incident: Fire dispatchers received numerous calls that the garage of a house was on fire near Sahara and Arrville.
At the same time a Las Vegas Fire Investigator was driving past the area enroute to another house fire call and could see flames coming from the house in a subdivision off Sahara Avenue.
When he went to investigate, he found the house with the garage fully involved. When he went outside to investigate, he could hear someone crying in the house.
He went through the front door of the house and found three adults in the living room. On the floor was an adult female who had a previous complicated medical condition and family members were trying to get her out. They were unable to move here. The fire investigators and two other firefighters, who just arrived on scene, pulled the lady from the interior of the home. She was transported by ambulance to a hospital because of her medical condition.
The fire started in the garage where a water heater, washer and dryer are located. The family says they were washing and drying clothes at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, appears to be accidental. The interior (living area) of the home was not damaged.
