Woman injured in Merced apartment blaze

A woman was injured in a large blaze Wednesday at the Yosemite Apartments in the city’s Loughborough area. Fire at Kate Sessions park burns half acre

PACIFIC BEACH — San Diego firefighters used water drops and ground crews to put out a small grass fire that started about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at Kate Sessions Memorial Park in Pacific Beach. The fire started near the back of the park and burned about a half acre, Battalion Chief Matt Nilsen said.

Firefighters battle 2,000 acre blaze near Fountain Springs

June 28, 2011

Approximately 350 firefighters continue battling a wildland fire that broke out Monday afternoon and has since burned 2,000 acres south of Fountain Springs, Cal Fire Prevention Captain Greg Neeley confirmed Tuesday. The blaze, threatening grazing land, dry grass and scattered oak trees, was 45 percent contained by 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Victorville toddler falls from second-story window

VICTORVILLE — A 3-year-old boy fell from the window of a two-story home Monday night, but authorities say he appears to have sustained only minor injuries.
