Power went out for businesses and residents in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood Thursday afternoon in an outage related to a manhole fire at Folsom and Harriet streets. Firefighters were called to that intersection at 1:48 p.m., fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Los Angeles County firefighters were battling a brush fire in the Antelope Valley on Tuesday afternoon that had burned about 5 acres.

Fire crews remained at the scene of a Mount San Jacinto wildfire near the Windy Point area throughout the night Sunday, monitoring a blaze that started Saturday evening.
