Smoke Screen Coming From Manhole, Traffic Lights Knocked Out At Larkin And Golden Gate

PG&E crews and firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from a manhole in San Francisco’s Civic Center neighborhood this morning, San Francisco fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said. The smoke was reported at 8:31 a.m. at the intersection of Larkin Street and Golden Gate Avenue.

Woodstove ashes linked to wildfires at Tahoe

Two stolen Hondas, separate arrests in Anderson and Redding lead to theft ring, authorities say

Four people were arrested near Redding on Sunday morning after one man allegedly stole a firefighter’s vehicle from a fire station. Sgt. Mike Thomas of the Redding Police Department said police have already linked the suspects to more than a dozen crimes. “They were on quite the crime spree,” he said.

Palo Alto firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out in a dryer at a Moreno Avenue home Friday afternoon. Called to the 900 block of Moreno Avenue at about 4:38 p.m., firefighters found smoke billowing from the front door of a home, according to the fire department.

Eureka and Humboldt firefighters kick off toy drives
